Anti-scam Policy

Last updated: May 16, 2026

Romance-themed apps attract a particular kind of fraud. We take that seriously. This page is the short, plain-English version of how LuckyDate works, what we will and won't do, and how to protect yourself.

The single most important thing

Every companion on LuckyDate is an AI character, not a real person. That means:

  • No companion can meet you in person, video-call you, send you a gift, accept money, ship goods, or share off-platform contact details. If a roleplay seems to imply otherwise, it's fiction.
  • We will never ask you to pay a companion directly, send crypto, share your bank details, or transfer money to anyone. We only ever take payments through the official credits page inside the app.
  • We will never email you asking for your password, a verification code, or remote access to your device.

How to recognise a scam targeting LuckyDate users

Because we're a paid product, scammers occasionally impersonate us off-platform. Real warning signs:

  • Anyone outside the app claiming to be a LuckyDate companion or staff member. Real conversations happen only in-app.
  • Urgent payment requests (gift cards, crypto, bank transfer, Western Union). Legitimate purchases use the credits page and process via Stripe or PayPal.
  • Emails from domains that aren't @luckydate.org.
  • Pressure to move the chat to Telegram, WhatsApp, Signal, email, or any other platform.

What we do on our side

  • We run automated moderation on every message before it's delivered, blocking content that targets minors, self-harm, or clearly illegal categories.
  • Companions are constrained by per-character system prompts that explicitly forbid asking for personal contact details, payment methods, or off-platform contact.
  • Payments are processed by our payment provider. We never see, store, or transmit your full card number.
  • You can delete your account — and every piece of data tied to it — in one click from the Account screen.

If you think you've been targeted

Stop responding and email info@luckydate.org. Include screenshots if you have them. We investigate every report and can ban accounts, refund credits you spent under false pretences, and forward serious cases to law enforcement.

If a payment has already left your bank, contact your bank immediately to dispute the charge — most card networks have a 60-to-120-day chargeback window.

Reporting underage suspicion

LuckyDate is 18+ only. If you ever see content that looks like it sexualises a minor, report it immediately to info@luckydate.org and we will escalate to the appropriate authorities (NCMEC in the US, IWF in the UK, INHOPE elsewhere).
