Privacy Policy

What we collect

• Account data — email, password hash, and the preferences you share during onboarding (age bucket, what you're looking for, optional profile fields).
• Chat content — text messages, photos and voice notes you send or receive, plus reactions, stickers and gifts. Photos and voice notes you upload are compressed and stored as part of your message history.
• Wallet activity — credit balance, lifetime spend, and a log of every credit grant or spend (purchase, welcome bonus, daily bonus, message cost, etc.).
• Payment data — payments are processed by a third-party provider (such as Stripe). We never see, store, or transmit your full card number. We keep only the transaction metadata (timestamp, amount, plan, provider reference) needed to reconcile your wallet.
• Usage & device data — pages visited, feature clicks, approximate location from IP, and device/browser details. We use this to keep the service reliable and to understand which features people use. This is only collected if you accept the analytics cookie banner.

AI processing

The companions on LuckyDate are AI characters, not real people. To generate their replies we send the relevant portion of your chat history and the companion's persona prompt to a third-party large-language-model provider (such as OpenAI or an OpenAI-compatible API) under a no-training data agreement. We never send your email, name, payment info or analytics data to the model. Translations of incoming messages, when you tap the translate icon, are processed the same way.

Why we use it

• To run the service and deliver your messages.
• To generate companion replies, photo unlocks, voice notes and other in-app content.
• To personalise matches and conversation suggestions.
• To fight fraud, abuse, and underage access.
• To measure marketing performance with privacy-respecting analytics (PostHog) and, if you consent, Meta Ads pixels.

Who we share with

Only the processors we need to run the product: hosting, database, transactional email (Resend), payments (Stripe or equivalent), AI model providers (such as OpenAI), and analytics (PostHog, optional Meta Ads). We never sell your data.

Your rights

You can download a complete copy of your account data, or permanently delete your account, at any time from the Account screen. Deletion is immediate and removes your profile, chat history, transactions and analytics records from our production database. You can also email info@luckydate.org. If you're in the EU / UK you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Cookies

We set a single strictly-necessary cookie to keep you logged in (HTTP-only, SameSite=Lax, 30 days). Optional analytics and marketing cookies (PostHog, Meta Ads) load only after you accept them in the cookie banner. You can change your choice any time by clearing the "luckydate_cookie_consent" cookie and reloading.

Retention

We keep account data for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, the row is removed from the production database immediately and from rolling encrypted backups within 30 days. Aggregated, non-personal usage statistics may be kept indefinitely.
